I am very happy to announce the formation of my new TRIO with my Italian colleagues Filippo De Laura and Massimo Cusato!
We are old friends who have decided to play together again, but this time in my country of origin, the USA. When I moved to Italy in 2003, I came with the intention to play with european musicians. Now that I have recorded two albums in Rome, “#SlowRelease” (2009 Tre Lune) and “#PolishingStones” (2015 Beste!Unterhaltung), with great international players, and am now preparing the next (seventh ) disk, I feel it is a good time to return to The States to showcase the culmination of my European experience. The genre of my music can now be considered as, “My World Music”.
Massimo Cusato, from Calabria, Italy, provides the bedrock of our Trio with his sensitive and solid foundation of Mediterranean rhythms on percussion and drums. I am very happy that he is available to play with me in the USA now! Follow Massimo on http://www.massimocusato.it/
Filippo de Laura, from Rome, Italy, producer of my two recent albums, “#SlowRelease” (2009 Tre Lune) and “#PolishingStones” (2015 Beste!Unterhaltung), brings his unique, contemporary and antiquated sound to our Trio presentation. Performing on Chapman Stick, as well as some original and odd stringed and bowed acoustic instruments, Filippo is a most sensitive and powerful player, composer, artist, and producer, and I am thrilled to play with him! Sono molto felice di annunciare la formazione del mio nuovo trio con i miei colleghi italiani Filippo De Laura e Massimo Cusato! Siamo vecchi amici che hanno deciso di sunoare di nuovo insieme, ma questa volta nel mio paese di origine, gli Stati Uniti. Quando mi sono trasferita in Italia nel 2003, sono venuta con l’intenzione di suonare con musicisti europei. Dopo aver inciso due album a Roma, “Slow Release” (2009 Tre Lune) e “Polishing Stones” (2015 Beste! Unterhaltung), con grandi musicisti internazionali, e preparato il prossimo album (settimo), sento che è arrivato il momento di tornare (a suonare) negli Stati Uniti per mostrare i risultati della mia esperienza europea. Anche per questo mi piace chiamare il genere della mia musica, “My World Music”.
